# Application Process

Great, so you’ve decided that you want to work in progressive analytics! We’ve provided a list of organizations in the Appendix to kick off your search, but this section will go through the nitty-gritty of what your search will like entail.

As you go through the application process, I'd encourage you to keep [Hanlon's Razor](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hanlon%27s_razor) in mind:

> Never assume malice when stupidity will suffice.

People in this industry are well-meaning, but they're overburdened and typically lack a human resources team. As a result, your hiring process may feel slow, insane, and annoying, but no one's actually out to get you. We all want to find talented people to work in this field; we're just not always that competent during the application process.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://annie-3.gitbook.io/jobs-proganalytics/03_app_process.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
